I don’t know about you, but the more I read of this governments actions, the more my angry stomach knot tightens. This is a dangerous nanny state government, literally out of control and doing more damage every day.Why should everybody be labelled as a potential paedophile and our lives dictated by the existence of a very small minority of extremely evil predators? This government is deliberately creating an atmosphere of fear and suspicion so that they can extend their hand of control over EVER

This morning found us scurrying around early to meet our friend Israel from Avalanche Photography for our yearly family picture. The shoot went well– I’m hoping to have pictures to show you soon. After a morning of picture taking, we weren’t quite in the mood to jump into school at lunch time. John decided to take the bigger kids to the mountains to get the last load of firewood for the season, leaving me home with the little girls. First on their agenda was a viewing of the movie Tarzan.
Went to my first parent-teacher meeting at my Italian school. Mama mia…. that was interesting!! It’s a group meeting, not a one-on-one, and many people talk at the same time…. The Italian language has something called ‘overlap’, where responding person starts talking before the first-talking person is finished. It felt like a friendly family gathering.. Nothing formal about it. The teacher is wonderful. Even speak some English and has one hour a week dedicated to this international language.

Took the girls to Boo at the Zoo yesterday, and didn’t get home until 11pm! I was shocked. An event that was just supposed to be a few hours long ended up taking up half my day ! Maybe I should buy a watch one of these days, because I’m always losing track of time. So anyway, here’s my weekly roundup. A day late, but chock-full of fun stuff! First off, this isn’t really news anymore, but in case you haven’t heard, Disney is giving a full refund to anyone who purchased a Baby Einstein DVD
Inspired by the success of Top Chef Masters (which just got picked up for a second season), Bravo will replicate the Top Chef formula in a third series that will pit pastry chefs against each other. It will be called Top Chef: Just Desserts . Casting is already underway, with a premiere slated for 2010. Like the original series but unlike Masters, the pastry chefs will live together in a house during filming as the show follows the weekly elimination format. There's still no word on who
